Us...

My and Carra’s heart for Life Action and the impact God has used the ministry for started in the 1990s when each of our churches hosted Life Action Summits. We each saw God do amazing things in the lives of His people during those Summits. We saw marriages restored, people set free from the bondage of various sins they thought they were all alone in. We witnessed parents and children reconciled in their relationships, people giving their lives to the Lord. We got to see God work His amazing grace in such a way that His people truly started to live like His people.

Fast forward to the early 2000s. God called us each to serve in Life Action on the road teams that He had already used to impact our personal lives. We again got to see and be a part of all God was doing through Life Action- me for 5 years and Carra for 3 years. During that time, I served as a children’s minister, then a youth director and team director. Carra served as a children’s minister and then as a singer as part of the praise team.

In 2005 God called us off the road as we were getting married and beginning full-time pastoral ministry in a local church. For almost 18 years, I served in full-time pastoral ministry as a youth pastor and then as a

family pastor for two different and incredible congregations. In April of 2022, we received a call from Life Action asking if we had ever considered serving in camp ministry. Honestly, we hadn’t. However, Carra and I believe that if God presents a ministry opportunity, we should seriously consider it through prayer and seeking God’s wisdom, even if it is an opportunity we weren’t looking for or had even considered.

After much prayer and counsel from the other elders at the church we were serving at that time, we decided to accept the call to return to Life Action as part of the Camp Ministry staff!

What Do We Do?

I am the Activities Director and part of the Message Development team. In a nutshell, in addition to teaching at some of the events, I oversee the activities team to help design, build, and execute various games and activities for guests of Life Action events at the camp. I also help shape the themes for our various events and develop the material for those events as well as other content and resources for families. The privilege of directly ministering to families through direct engagement with our guests is also a part of what I do. Carra does what she does best- investing in and speaking into the lives of women, both staff and guests, on a relational basis (something that transcends what can be done in a large group meeting or activity). She also helps with our women's and mother/daughter retreats.
