So Far, So Fast!
And Good...
So, we are getting ready to start our 10 weeks of Family Camps... oh, wait, we are done already with our 10 weeks of Family Camps! Well, that went fast!
It is simply unbelievable that Spring retreats and 10 weeks
of Family Camps has come and gone! It seems like we just
finished getting everything ready for the first families to
arrive and now here we are looking back on more than 300
families that have come through our camp since the beginning of June, not to mention all of our retreats this past Spring.
This year was hands down the best of the three Family Camp years we have been here. It wasn't uncommon to hear families mention that as soon as they they got on the property they could tell something was different, in a good way. Obviously, that wasn't anything we did- that was God. And we did see God move in so many ways.
We saw God repair strained marriages, restore parent/child relationships. We saw Him bring new life to people as they gave their lives to Christ, as well as people who deepened their walk with Christ to a whole new level. It was wonderful to see families spending time together participating in the many activities we had and discover that they actually enjoy each other's company.
I had the privilege again of being able to develop and write content and resources that our guests and their children would be hearing this year. I was humbled and honored to have that much of a part to play in the spiritual feeding of our guests.
Carra and I both had many hours of great fellowship time engaging with the hundreds of families that came through our camp. It was good to see old friends from last year and to make many new friends this year. There is something special about camp life that allows you to create bonds with people you just wouldn't think would be possible in only a week. One couple, who was here for the first time, said that almost instantly they felt like they had known us for years. Yep, camp life.
Many memories- both spiritual and relational- were made and God alone deserves the credit and the glory for what He chose to do through the flawed vessels that make up the camp staff and volunteers.
Of course we aren't done with camp season quite yet. We are gearing up for a series of retreats. I am looking forward to teaching at Quest in a couple of weeks; Quest is our father/son retreat. We also have one last family camp before we are officially finished with the 2025 camp season. We added a Fall Family Camp this year that we are so excited about. It will be much smaller than our Summer Family Camps which means we will be able to really spend time with each family and, prayerfully and by God's grace, serve and monister the love of Christ to each family that attends.
After that, I start writing material for next year and the activities team and I start brainstorming for unique and exciting activities for our families next year.
All in all, it was an incredible summer seeing God do so many amazing things in the lives of the families that graced our camp. It was truly our privilege to be a part of it all. It is a privilege made possible through your prayers and support, so, thank you so much for your prayers and support this year. We literally could not have done it without you!

About Us
We are the Moorman's (yep, it makes for a never ending source of both confusion and jokes). We are Jon and Carra and our 7 kiddos. We have a heart to see families glorify God as they grow in their personal walks with Him. We believe this happens as fathers, especially, take up the mantle of their God-given responsibility to lead their families.
