So Far, So Fast!

And Good...

So, we are getting ready to start our 10 weeks of Family Camps... oh, wait, we are done already with our 10 weeks of Family Camps! Well, that went fast!

It is simply unbelievable that Spring retreats and 10 weeks

of Family Camps has come and gone! It seems like we just

finished getting everything ready for the first families to

arrive and now here we are looking back on more than 350

families that have come through our camp since the beginning of June, not to mention all of our retreats this past Spring.

In some ways it was an easier year than last year. This year I had some experience under my belt and I had plenty of help this year. Of course, we did add a new member of the family- Rowan Jon Moorman. He was born about 6 weeks before camp started. So, it definitely made for a unique camp experience for us this year. He was a trooper, though. People always commented on how calm and quiet he was.

My job title and responsibilities changed somewhat. I was made Activities Director, which for the most part just means more meetings! I still had all the fun of developing, creating, and executing activities for our guests to enjoy. I also had the privilege of being able to develop and write most of the content and resources that our guests and their children would be hearing this year. That was not something I thought would be on my plate, but it was a very pleasant surprise. I was humbled to have that much of a part to play in the spiritual feeding of our guests.

Carra and I both had many hours of great fellowship time engaging with the hundreds of families that came through our camp. It was good to see old friends from last year and to make many new friends this year. There is something special about camp life that allows you to create bonds with people you just wouldn't think would be possible in only a week. One couple, who was here for the first time, said that almost instantly they felt like they had known us for years. Yep, camp life.

Of course we aren't done with camp season quite yet. We are gearing up for our last family camp which is our Labor Day Family Camp. It is just a three days over Labor Day weekend rather than a full week. After that we have two months of retreats before we are officially finished with the 2024 camp season. I am looking forward to the opportunity to teach at Quest in October (that is our father and son retreat). Carra will be involved with Thrive, our ladies' retreat in October as well.

After that, I start writing material for next year and the activities team and I start brainstorming for unique and exciting activities for our families next year.

All in all, it was an incredible summer seeing God do so many amazing things in the lives of the families that graced our camp. It was truly our privilege to be a part of it all. It is a privilege made possible through your prayers and support, so, thank you so much for your prayers and support this year. We literally could not have done it without you!

About Us

We are the Moorman's (yep, it makes for a never ending source of both confusion and jokes). We are Jon and Carra and our 7 kiddos. We have a heart to see families glorify God as they grow in their personal walks with Him. We believe this happens as fathers, especially, take up the mantle of their God-given responsibility to lead their families.

The Latest

Life is an adventure! Especially when you are simply walking and trusting in our incredibly faithful God! Whether it is about where we are in our search for our new home, how you can be praying for us, or where our present support level is, or whatever else may be going on in our lives as we trek our way to Life Action Camp, you will find it here.

Join Our Team

We are excited to join the Life Action Camp staff and impact families for the sake of the Kingdom! To do so, we need a committed team of people who will support us through their prayers and financial giving. Would you consider investing in us as we invest in families that are seeking for God to be glorified in their homes?

Resources

As parents, spouses, and simply as Christians, we all need help. Here is a source of books, sites, and articles that have been helpful to our family.

Our prayer is that as God has used these resources in our lives, so will He use them in yours!

Camps &
Retreats

If you want to see some highlights and sessions from past camps and retreats you can check out the Life Action Camp Facebook page!

One of the best things to read are the testimonies of parent , husbands, wives, and kids about how God worked in their lives during their time at a Life Action Camp event!

We serve an incredible God!
