Rock and a Hard Place

HONEY FROM A ROCK? WITH GOD, ABSOLUTELY!

This morning during Men’s Prayer Meeting we were praying through the Psalms. Psalm 81 was one of the Psalms we prayed through. We are presently in a hard place with our journey back to Life Action.

Psalm 81:15-16 was a welcome reminder of just who our God is!

Verses 15-16 say, “Those who hate the Lord would cringe toward Him, and their fate would last forever. But He would feed you with the finest of the wheat, and with honey from the rock He would satisfy you.”

The image of receiving honey from a rock really struck me. I am no beekeeper, but I am pretty sure a rock is not the typical place one would go to gather honey. It would seem rather impossible to get something like that from a rock.

We sometimes find ourselves in really hard, dare I say, impossible situations. It doesn’t seem that any way is a promising direction to head in. It is he proverbial, “Between a rock and a hard place.”

The glorious thing about being between a rock and a hard place, is that God can bring something sweet from the rock.

The glorious thing about being between a rock and a hard place, is that God can bring something sweet from the rock. He can provide for us in a glorious way in the midst of that situation. In fact, it is the very situation itself that God uses to provide in sweetest ways.

Trust in the God who, when between a rock and a hard place, can bring honey from that rock and provide in ways that seem impossible!
